Calling All Volunteers!

To be a PTA volunteer does NOT mean you have to be available to help out in your child's classroom during school hours. There are MANY ways to volunteer, and EVERY way you can help will help your child and the school. If you're interested, contact our volunteer coordinator, Debbie Laskey, at volunteers@brockbridgepta.org.

Classroom teachers always have lots of tasks they would love to have some help with. Volunteers may work with small groups of students or they may help teachers putting together packets for the students, copying worksheets, or cutting out classroom decorations. (Some of these tasks can also be done at home!) And don't forget to offer to chaperone a class field trip.

The Media Center can always use volunteers. It's a lot easier for students to find books when the books are on the shelves and not on the return carts. Ms. Meinhardt also has books that need to be covered and other projects to work on.

Love art? Ms. Moseson and Ms. Howard, our art teachers, would love to have some volunteers to help in the art classroom. There's always something to be done - but be sure to wear clothes you won't mind getting a little dirty!

We always need volunteers for special events, like helping out with the Fall Dance, Winter Festival, Book Fair, Holiday Shop and Multicultural Night. You'll get special requests home in your child's folder asking for you to help out when these events are coming up.

You can also help out with any of our fundraisers. You can collect the Labels for Education that other families send in to the school and submit them for reimbursement. You can enter the Coke bottle cap codes online. You can collect Boxtop for Education coupons from your friends and family. Every little bit helps.

Before you can volunteer IN the school, you do need to watch a special video for volunteers. We will have two viewing dates coming up soon, one during the day and one during the evening.

The following teachers have made specific requests for volunteers:

Media Center: Ms. Meinhardt can always use help shelving books and covering new books.

Art Class: Ms. Moseson and Ms. Howard would appreciate any volunteers who could help set up for a class or clean up afterwards.

Recess Monitors: All of the grades would love to have additional support during recess.
